WebScan

Senso IS WebScan is a module that allows scanning right within a web application.

It can be combined into standard or customized web client importance, and it is operated from within the mixed applications, so it can not be used alone. It does not need to be installed on a local PC.

WebScan module is utilized to scan reports into a report container (documentation system) in a few easy ways. With this module, there is no want to have a given scanning program on a PC and next import the scanned report into the documentation system.

Senso IS WebScan is a module that allows scanning in web applications. It is mixed into standard or uses web client importance. It runs from within the application in which it is mixed and it can not be utilized separately.

Senso IS WebScan module is utilized for scanning reports directly from a web application. Scanned reports are stored in containers.

WebScan consists of the following major elements

  1. The client is an ActiveX control that has to be placed on each client’s PC. It can be added to create special web client importance to run in Microsoft Internet Explorer. It is possible to image processing, control indexing, data logging, error handling, within the application. Furthermore, it is reasonable to work ISIS and TWAIN drivers which are installed on the client PC to control scanners and other suitable picture sources (cameras, web cameras, …) within the browser. The way of ISIS drivers is supported due to improved unity and safety.
  2. The server is a manageable back-end part based on Java, which manages incoming reports from any number of customers. The server is combined with a default implementation. Server back-end logic can be changed to store pictures in a process that needs the user environment.

Web Scanner

The existing Web Scanner device was not approved by all the browsers and needed modifications in the methodology. The Advanced Web Scanner Service gives a more stable and well process of scanning images. Users can download the Advanced Web Scanner Service on their client machines. And can configure the switch for storing the scanned pictures on the limited system or server (TIFF files will forever be stored on the server as they are utilized for OCR processing). Another switch can be configured for backward unity if you need to use the existing process.

Also, a major increase in the Advanced Web Scanner Service is that the service will presently support both the protocols HTTP and HTTPS. The service runs on a specific port range defined in the application for HTTP (50001 to 50005) and HTTPS (60001 to 60005). During the installation, the installer will assign a port available for each protocol to run the service. Configuring the HTTPS protocol requires importing a certificate on the client’s computer. For detailed information, read the entire article.

The scanning tool in the Advanced Web Scanner Service is related to what it was before; the only difference in the UI is the drop-down list reflecting the installed Scanners rather than the Source button.

The user can also see data about groups created by Web Scanner. For this purpose, a pop-up window is performed once the batch scanning is finished and the End button is snapped on the Web Scanner screen. The scanning end pop-up holds the following information:

Batch Instance Id

Batch Instance Name

Batch Instance Description

Batch Page Count

The pop-up window also holds a cookie-based “Don’t ask me again” choice. Once this choice is chosen, the pop-up will not be shown upon scanning finish.

Configure the Advanced Web Scanner Switch

  1. Go to Ephesoft >>Application >> WEB-INF
  2. Open the web.xml file in your local editor.
  3. By default, the turn is ON. It is not, Switch-on the Advanced Web Scanner Switch:
  4. <init-param><param-name>advancedWebScannerSwitch</param-name><param-value>ON</param-value></init-param>
  5. This will redirect the Web Scanner URL from /webscanner.html to the Advanced Web Scanner URL i.e. /advancedwebscanner.html.

Note: Switch off the advanced web scanner switch from the web.xml file if you need to utilize the existing scanning device. (Value = OFF)
